Custom Residences

For over two decades Blake Architects has made the dream of a truly custom home a reality for hundreds of families. Having a custom home designed and built is one life’s most exciting experiences and Blake Architects is dedicated to making the design process one that is enjoyable and collaborative by working closely with the homeowner to ensure all their expectations and visions are met.

Every detail of each home is carefully thought out and designed to the exacting specifications of the homeowner. Roger Blake, Principal Architect and owner of Blake Architects, has designed homes in all styles including Tuscan, Mediterranean, Colonial, Contemporary, French Eclectic, Texas Hill Country and more. These homes have been designed to be built in local communities including Southlake, Westlake, Colleyville, Argyle and McKinney as well as locations stretching from Colorado and Utah to Shanghai, China.

Blake Architects also has extensive experience working with city governments and neighborhood HOA boards to make the process of meeting regulations and obtaining necessary approvals as seamless as possible. Most master planned communities such as Vaquero, Terra Bella or Stonebridge Ranch have specific guidelines and criteria that every home must meet. Blake Architects has worked closely with these communities and others like them to provide all materials required for approval while meeting all neighborhood regulations.

Commercial Design

Each year Blake Architects also designs numerous commercial projects from a wide variety of industries including churches, daycares, dental offices, medical offices, retail stores, restaurants, banks, event centers, hotels and more.

Blake Architects works closely with other professionals including landscape architects, structural engineers and general contractors to take a commercial design project through all stages of development including schematic design, city government approvals (planning and zoning and/or city council), assurance of meeting American Disability Act (ADA) regulations through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and to provide working construction drawings.

As a licensed architect in the State of Texas, Roger Blake has the ability to not only design commercial properties but seal the documents with the state licensing seal making them certified for construction in Texas (with city approval). All required documents for construction are either designed or coordinated by Blake Architects including Site Plans, Floor Plans, Electrical Plans, Mechanical Plans, Roof Plans and Elevations.
